How to import your Fortmatic wallet to your MetaMask account?

This article will help you to import your existing Fortmatic wallet to your MetaMask account. For this, we will take into account that you already have an open Fortmatic and MetaMask wallet.

You will need to follow these easy step-by-step instructions.

Step 1:

Go to Fortmatic page and click on the “Wallet” on the menu at your top right. Log in to your account using your email, password, and your 2FA if you have set it up.

Step 2:

Once you log in, you can click on “Settings” and then click on “Export Private Key”. They will ask you if you want to proceed and why you are doing that. They ask because once you export your private key you won’t be able to use it again with Fortmatic. You will have to create a new one.

Step 3:

After answering the questions, Fortmatic will give you your private key in an encrypted document in a JSON file (.json). You will find your file in your “Downloads” folder.
